We are lucky enough to live in a neighborhood where we know most everyone on our street by name. Trusted neighbors are a true gift! We look out for one another, help out one another, and say hellos and goodbyes as we go about our daily lives.
The holidays are already such a magical time, and I like to show gratitude for our neighbors with a small gift that lets them know we appreciate them. I could buy candles or bottles of wine, but when you have a street full of neighbors, that can really add up! Plus, while we may be friendly in a neighborly way, most of them aren’t close friends where I know exactly what’s on their list.
I wanted to give a gift that was simple and affordable but also thoughtful. Read below to see my favorite Christmas gift for neighbors they’re sure to love!
Christmas Cookies for Neighbors
I make the most insanely delicious Christmas cookies every year. Not only are these great for your family or friends to enjoy but they also make the perfect Christmas gift for neighbors! I started baking Christmas cookies as gifts for our neighbors a few years ago and they loved them so much, it’s a tradition I’ve kept on repeat.
Anytime you’re giving food as gifts, make sure you consider any protentional allergies. I know that one of our neighbors has a nut allergy, so I make sure my cookie recipe is nut-free. Below is a link to my Christmas cookie recipe. I have a gluten allergy, so my recipe is gluten free. Even if you don’t have a gluten allergy, these cookies are so good!
Christmas Gift for Neighbors: Cookie Gift Bags & Christmas Cards
To keep the cookies fresh and to deliver them in the most adorable way, I use holiday-themed cellophane treat bags. Get them on Amazon, or you can also get cute ones at Target! They come with twist ties, but I prefer to use curling ribbon. I also write gift tags for each bag to verify they are gluten and nut free. Use a metallic marker to add a festive touch!
Each year, I buy a 4 pack of assorted Hallmark Christmas cards. They have the cutest prints!

These Christmas cookies are such a hit with our neighbors that I also make them for my hair stylist, our massage therapist, co-workers, and more! Gift these cookies to anyone in your life who’s holiday you want to sweeten up.
