When I was growing up, organization wasn’t really a thing in our house. I grew up in the south in the land of knick-knacks and sentimental treasures. Our kitchen counters were filled with appliances and decor, and we always had a paper towel roll out. I don’t even remember us having a paper towel holder. I’m pretty sure the cardboard roll it came on was the holder!
Now, if I walk into my kitchen and see any sort of clutter, I come unhinged LOL. I only keep necessities on the counter and want a designated home for everything! We are a family who recycles, and we try to do our part to reduce waste. But I cannot live without paper towels. We buy them in bulk at Costco and primarily use them in the kitchen.
My husband is an amazing cook but also an extremely messy one! We need paper towels on hand at all times. But I also don’t want them to clutter up the counter, so I was on the hunt for a way to hide them but still keep them convenient to access.
Hidden Paper Towel Holder
I have seen some pretty amazing ways to hide paper towels. My favorite is the custom paper towel drawer. This is the crème de la crème of under cabinet paper towel holders. Until that day comes, I was looking for something a lot easier (and a lot cheaper!) to hide our paper towels.

My sister has a paper towel holder mounted under her upper cabinet. From a convenience factor, this one definitely takes the cake! There are some really cute options out there. Some require mounting with hardware and others can literally just stick under your cabinet with adhesive that is insanely easy to install.
If you are simply trying to free up counter space but still want the convenience of grabbing paper towels quickly, go for an option like this!
Under Cabinet Paper Towel Holder: Lower Cabinet

My kitchen does not have any upper cabinets, so the only option I had was to either mount it to the wall (hard no) or mount it inside a lower cabinet. I decided to mount it under our kitchen sink, which was the main place we would be reaching for paper towels.
Since all of our kitchen hardware is bronze, I opted for a gold under cabinet paper towel holder that coordinated. This one comes in a bunch of different finishes, so if gold isn’t your thing, you can choose a different option.
I am one of the least handy people on the planet, and this one was so easy to install. I used the adhesive to stick the paper towel holder to the top inside of the cabinet. Before you stick it, make sure you do a trial run. Place a full paper towel roll on the holder and hold it in place. Make sure you can easily pull the roll off and on and that the cabinet door shuts.
I say this because you need to leave enough space to actually be able to put a new roll on your holder. Once you mount it, the adhesive is really strong and would be difficult to try and move it around if you made a mistake. But this is not rocket science, I promise! I had this paper towel holder mounted in just a couple minutes.
