Break a banana in half and toss it in the blender. My husband prefers to use frozen bananas because it creates a thicker consistency. It also makes it much colder. I personally prefer them unfrozen. Try it both ways and see which banana you prefer!
Add 1 cup of frozen berries. I get the organic mixed berries at Costco because organic frozen fruit is pricey! As much as we use, Costco is definitely the most bang for your buck.
Add 1 cup of milk. I use either almond milk or oat milk. I’m on an oat milk kick right now, because it’s a little thicker and sweeter than almond milk.
Add a heaping cup of organic spinach. I don’t usually measure it, I just grab large handful and toss it in.
Add 2-3 fresh organic strawberries. This is completely optional, but I think they add extra fruit flavor. I only buy them when they’re in season (and yes, I get them at Costco of course!)
Add a tablespoon of organic peanut butter. This is my favorite part of the smoothie. You can use nut butters too, but I love the taste of peanut butter. You’ll get 16% of your daily protein just from adding this to your smoothie!
Toss in a tablespoon of hemp hearts. They’re a great source of both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Plus, they’re a great source of protein.
Lastly, add in a couple good shakes of cinnamon and blend the smoothie to a creamy finish.
