As demo begins on our primary bathroom renovation in a few days, I am in major bathroom decorating mode! Of course, your big pieces like your vanity and shower/tub are really important when it comes to your coastal design, but you can add so much style with coastal bathroom accessories too!
Think of your accessories as the jewelry for your coastal bathroom. Not doing a bathroom renovation? No problem! Accessories are an easy and inexpensive way to makeover your bathroom, no contractors needed!
Check out my top coastal bathroom accessories to uplevel your bathroom with ultra seaside style.
1. Coastal-Inspired Towels

Towels are an incredibly easy way to add coastal style to your space. Coastal hand towels have a prominent place next to your vanity, so that’s an area I always prioritize when decorating.
For hand towels, look for 100% cotton material in coastal blues and stripes. Etsy has some sellers with the most beautiful Turkish towels in a ton of coastal colors and patterns. Can’t wait for delivery from Turkey? Amazon also has some super cute options!
For bath towels, choosing a monogram option (white towel with navy or light blue monogramming) can not only add coastal style to your bathroom, but it will also make it feel like a luxurious resort! I love Mark & Graham for all things monogrammed.
2. Greenery and Plants for a Beachy Bathroom

Adding greenery and plants to your bathroom will add freshness and life to any bathroom no matter what your style is. If you have a bathroom with lots of natural light, you could opt for live plants. For larger spaces, I love a fiddle fig. For vanity space, I love a low maintenance pothos plant. I don’t want to swear that’s they’re kill-proof, but I do not have a green thumb and ours have been thriving for years!
Don’t want to hassle with a live plant? No worries! There are tons of faux plant options to complement your coastal bathroom. Choose a simple white pot or bring in the coastal vibes with a blue or blue and white pattern pot.
3. Coastal Mirrors

Updating your bathroom vanity mirrors is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to give your space an upgrade and bring in more coastal style. Rattan mirrors will give an instant coastal makeover to your bathroom (that’s what I chose!). But you can also bring in coastal style with blue or even white mirrors!
I actually wrote an entire blog post dedicated to coastal bathroom mirrors. Check it out for more inspiration!
4. Nautical Wall Art and Decorative Items
Adding nautical wall art can really set the tone for your coastal bathroom. Look for ocean-inspired art, prints of coastal landscape, or even framed quotes for a more casual, relaxed feel.
Decorative items like beach-scented candles or diffusers or seashell dishes can add that seaside style to your coastal bathroom.
5. Lighting to Enhance the Coastal Vibe

Like mirrors, vanity lights are a relatively easy and affordable coastal bathroom accessory that can have big impact on your space. Look for vanity lighting with nautical details, like rope and jute. Dome or caged vanity lighting is another great option for your coastal bathroom.
I wrote a detailed post about the best coastal vanity lighting to help inspire your upgrade!
6. Eco-Friendly Coastal Bathroom Accessories
Eco-conscious decorators will love bamboo bathroom accessories like soap holders, toothbrush holders, dishes, trash bins, and even makeup organizers! Not only do bamboo accessories complement coastal style but they’re also sustainable.
7. Storage Solutions with a Coastal Touch

If there’s one thing every bathroom needs, it’s lots of storage! I don’t know about you but I have a lot of stuff in the bathroom, but I still want it to be clean and organized. Luckily, there are some super cute bathroom storage options that provide all the function you need with maximum coastal style.
Look for storage solutions in natural materials like wicker or driftwood to bring out the coastal style in your bathroom. Glass containers can also be a beautiful way to corral Q-tips, cotton balls or bath accessories.
I am a big fan of open shelving in a bathroom, especially over the toilet. That way, you can organize all the things you need (like toilet paper!) in a decorative way. Yes, even toilet paper can be cute!
I found our hanging shelf at Home Goods years ago and of course I can’t find it online anywhere. We left it when we sold our house, and now I’m really regretting that decision! I found a similar one HERE.
I hope these coastal bathroom accessories gave you some good inspiration for a simple but impactful makeover for one of the most important rooms in the house. Happy decorating!
